Bolo Mimi

Chanteur , musicien, acteur et chorégraphe, Denagan Janvier Honfo vit en Allemagne depuis plusieurs années. A travers ses albums , Aziza en 1995 et Bolo Mimi en 1997, il explore le patrimoine musical béninois et développe une technique personnelle de percussions. En 1998, il enregistre kebele percussions avec divers percussionnistes béninois, un album autour de la percussion. Il a participé à plusieurs festivals internationaux et notamment au festival de la culture à l’UNESCO. Il a également enregistré un album afro-pop avec le groupe Azuka et a monté un projet musical centré sur la relaxation. Dans l’album « Kiki Kana » enregistré en 2003, il utilise des rythmes vaudous et opte pour un style pop servi par une orchestration à base de guitares, de basse, de cuivres, de programmation rythmique et d’harmonies vocales. Through his albums, Aziza in 1995 and Bolo Mimi in 1997, he explores the musical heritage of Benin and develops a personal technique of percussions. In 1998, he recorded kebele percussion with various percussionists from Benin, an album around the percussion. He participated in several international festivals including the festival of culture at UNESCO. He also recorded an album with Afro-pop group Azuka and has mounted a musical project focused on relaxation. In the album Kiki Kana recorded in 2003, he plays voodoo rhythms and opts for a pop style served by an orchestration based guitars, bass, brass, programming rhythmic and vocal harmonies.
