Le livre est illustré d’une trentaine de photos, offre une discographie complète ainsi qu’une transcription de deux de leurs tubes. Le livre est complété d’un CD, le seul enregistrement live du groupe qui eut lieu en 1963 en Angleterre.

Joe Mogotsi, who is the only original member of the quartet still active in music, tells the story of how he grew up in a poor Johannesburg township, how the group was formed, and how their career eventually brought them to London in 1961, with the musical King Kong. The book also tells the story about the group’s enduring legal battle with their South African record company over the rights to their songs.
Co-authored by joe Mokotsi and Pearl Connor, the book is illustrated with some thirty photos, most of which have never previously been published. It contains a Manhattan Brothers discography and note transcripts of two of their hits.
The book comes with a CD presenting the only existing live performance of The Manhattan Brothers, recorded in England in 1963.
