7 (Seven)

Fondé en 1991 à Bruxelles (Belgique) par la chanteuse Marie Daulne, Zap Mama est un groupe féminin belgo-congolais oscillant entre afro-fusion, chants polyphoniques, afro-folk, a capella, afro-pop et afro- hip hop, avec des onomatopées typiquement africaines.

En 1997, Zap Mama sort l’album 7 (Seven)), dont la première chanson, « Jogging à Tombouctou », introduite par des voix a capella, se poursuit par un ragga/reggae. Quant à « New World », c’est un afro-reggae aux parfums soul, interprétée par Marie Daulne, avec Sabine Kabongo, Watanga Rema et U-Roy aux voix additionnelles.
