Le Big Band incluait alors des musiciens comme Bill Evans, Malfatti, Beckett, John Tchicai et Louis Sclavis. D’autres et non des moindres, avaient quitté la formation: Louis Moholo, Dudu Pukwana et Harry Miller. La musique s’en ressentit, plus formelle, moins spontanée et sud-africaine que dans les précédents albums. A noter quelques titres gardant l’esprit de la confrérie du souffle comme «~Sea Breeze~».

«~Yes please, cette chose, Je voulais en faire une chose légère. Le but était de laisser s’exprimer le groupe plutôt que des individus. C’est une façon de faire africaine. La musique dans laquelle j’ai grandi au Transkei est une musique communautaire et j’ai le souvenir très clair de la beauté des choses produite par le groupe. Aussi, cette faàon d’agir, c’est en partie cela qui me fait réaliser que je suis africain.~»

The big band was then including Bill Evans, Malfatti , Beckett , John Tchicai and Louis Sclavis. Some were really missing : Louis Moholo, Dudu Pukwana and Harry Miller. A music less spontaneous, bouncy, more formal and African than in the previous albums.

“Yes please, that thing, I wanted to make it light. the aim was on the group happening…rather than individuals . and this is an African thing. The music I grew up with in the Transkei is a very communal music. and I have the clear memopry of the beauty of things directed towards a group. So, this development, it’s part of the fact that I’m realizing that I’m an African.” Some tracks like Sea Breeze have still this bouncy , groovy style, the spirit of Cape Town.
