Cet album est un retour à sa passion pour les instruments africains et surtout pour la flûte pygmée ou n’dehou autour de laquelle il construit tout l’album. « La flûte magique des pygmées n’émet qu’une seule note et ce qu’elle a de magique justement, c’est qu’elle peut jouer toute une mélodie à partir de cette note unique . Le jeu consiste à ajouter après chaque émission du son de la flûte une ou deux notes de sa voix de tête. Cette technique absolument fascinante est une invention des pygmées qui s’en servent couramment dans leur propre musique« .
