Dans le studio, on entendait de mots swahili, kirundi et kinyarwanda mêlés de français et d'anglais et un vocabulaire musical venu d'Afrique, d'Amérique du Nord et des Caraïbes. Dehors, c'était peut-être l'hiver d'Ottawa, mais dès qu'on franchissait le seuil de la porte pratiquée dans le mur de béton, on était bel et bien à Ngagara.
