12. Mères d'Afrique 3:52 Wamato is the second album of this legendary feminine group of Guinea and can be considered as the album of the revival. It has been recorded 25 years after their first one, Au Coeur de Paris. Besides their mandingo repertoire underlined by bouncy horns and nasal high-pitched vocals , they added new musical colours by inviting Zawagui from Macenta, a polyphonic trio singing songs of the forest in toma, Fatou Nylon Barry, Aminata Kamissoko and M'Mah Sylla. In their lyrics, they pay a tribute to captain Nyepou Haba, the queen of Amazones, gone in 2004 in Conakry, they praise motherly love and of course love for the mother country: one must not forget Les Amazones are first of all members of the Army, some are majors, lieutenants and other captains. Today, the dean is Major Djénabou Bah, who plays tenor saxophone. ”
