«~Nomathemba~», leur premier tube, a été enregistré pour la première fois en 1973, sur l’album Amabutho.
«~Hello my baby~» est une combinaison réussie des voix males et rythmiques des Mambazo et de la sensualité de Zap Mama.
«~Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes~», le tube de Paul Simon, est un clin d’oeil à l’aventure Graceland. Toute la base rythmique du morceau est assuré par les choeurs des Mambazo et par Joe Mc Bride. Melissa Etheridge y rajoute une touche originale.
Sarah McLachlan a participé à «~Homeless~», un des plus grandes tubes des Ladysmith Black Mambazo.
«~Rain Rain Beautiful Rain~», enregistré en 1987, mêle douceur et nostalgie.
«~Shaka Zulu~», leur premier Grammy Award, est interprété ici avec la chanteuse pop Natalie Merchant.
«~Mbube~», le morceau le plus célèbre d’isacathamiya, voit la participation de Taj Mahal et mêle ici la nostalgie rugueuse du blues amricain et la lumineuse énergie des polyphonies zouloues.
Le gospel est le point de rencontre de la chanteuse américaine Emmylou Harris et les sud-africains Mambazo dans ce curieux mix de «~Amazing Grace~» et «~Nearer to My God To Thee~».
Pour le morceau «~Nkosi Sikelel ‘Iafrica~», l’hymne national, symbole de la liberté retrouvée, Joseph Shabalala a choisi de réunir des artistes sud-africains incarnant divers styles du pays (jazz, reggae, maskanda, mbaqanga, kwaïto, zulu music) : Lucky Dube, Bhekumuzi Luthuli, Hugh Masekela, Vusi Mahlasela, Nokukhanya, Phuzekhemisi and Thandiswa Mazwai
«~Thula Thula~», le dernier morceau est la seule composition nouvelle , mais nous réserve la plus belle des surprises : Joseph Sabalala y chante en effet en solo !!
